In the latest RC, when Orion is not the foreground app, it hides itself.

  1. Open Orion
  2. Click on another app
  3. Orion window becomes hidden, and unhides after clicking the dock icon

Orion should not become hidden, but the window should just fall into the background.

    I think this is very important to fix, its really impacing my use. Its even more obvious and buggy in fullscreen mode.

    1. Open orion in fullscreen
    2. Four-finger swipe away, wait until the screen stops moving
    3. Four-finger swipe back

    Orion won't be there, it'll instead show a black screen + whatever widgets you have, in my case. It takes a good few seconds for orion to un-hide.

    This is really bad for multitasking since its a 2s delay (on top of the time taken for the swipe to take place).

      I concur - using it in splitscreen goes dark when switching and clicking into the orion window wont bring it back, have to click the icon in the dock. However I see it responds to alt TAB switching. But should not go black - no good for local webdevelopment.

        thank you astruckm - interesting - just noticed I can change a password in the email app preview popup by forceclicking the reset link ... very convenient but is this safe?

            I see the same issue, but the temporary workaround disabling preview external links has worked.

              The latest Orion RC introduced previewing link and opening external links in mini window. But current implementation appears to have a side effect: normal Orion window disappears when I switch to another app, and re-appears when I switch back to Orion.

              I would expect Orion window to stay visible while it is in the background, like it used to be before this release.

              The behaviour becomes correct as soon as I disable the option.

                II'm experiencing the same issue with the latest Orion RC.

                    Merged 3 posts from Orion window disappears when inactive, if "Open external links in Preview" is enabled.

                      When I go to a different desktop and do something, then swipe back, then screen is black for a few second before the window appears.

                      I would just expect it to swipe over cleanly

                        Merged 3 posts from RC makes the window disappear when moving between desktops..

                          We will be fixing this in the next RC. It was a pretty substantial feature, and already growing to be one of my favorite ones in Orion.

                          With the latest RC switching apps causes the entire Orion application (multiple windows included) to go invisible until selected from the dock. The application window is invisible in Mission Control and can't be selected and is not shown in the minimized windows area of the dock either. This happens every time switching between apps.

                          Attached a video showing the bug.

                          Expected behaviour is for the window to not disappear and for it to still show in Mission Control.
