@Fortrikka Thank you very much for opening this issue!
- Sometimes, the page won't allow vimium to run at all
- After recent update (Version 0.99.114-beta (WebKit 614.1.12)), opening vimium search bar for the first time on a new tab(page) (pressing oO, bB... etc) won't focus automatically.
Something I've noticed in vimium-c and Surfingkeys that I'd be curious to confirm for regular Vimium if anyone has a moment: if you press ? to bring up the shortcuts window, it doesn't get autofocus in Orion like it does in Chrome or Safari, so pressing Escape doesn't close it. You have to click on the window to focus on it, then press Escape again. That's a small thing, but it's an irritant and I think it affects all similar extensions.
(It is actually mentioned here: https://orionfeedback.org/d/745-vimium-bugs-catalogue/7
So hoping this ticket actually serves to track this specific bug (since the post above comes with many other things.)
Steps to reproduce:
- install Vimium extension - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/vimium/dbepggeogbaibhgnhhndojpepiihcmeb
- type "/" to enable search bar on the bottom right
- type things to search
- text doesn't appear as type and no searching feature works
Expected behavior:
search works and cursor moves around as you type

N/A
Noting that the core feature of Vimium, finding and clicking links, does not work in 0.99.121-beta.
To reproduce:
- Install Vimium from the Chrome Web Store.
- Open a new tab.
- Click
f
on your keyboard. - Observe no highlighted links.
using f
to generate the link labels works until I go back with H
. after that it is always stuck on collecting labels...
in the bottom right corner.
- Edited
I am going to prioritize it but someone needs to summarize the top three things we should fix, there is too much here.
For me I think f
to generate link labels is the most important feature for vimium. It works probably ⅔ of time for me right now, when it fails to work it gets stuck on collecting labels...
as uloco said above. I haven't been able to figure out if its going back with H
that always precedes the failure or not, but I know at least sometimes I can use hints after going back.
Refreshing the page usually fixes it.
Just tried Vimium C again with Orion v0.99.123-beta.
Same problem as before.
Pressing f
does show the link hints but pressing any of them does not click the corresponding link.

What is happening (in Orion): https://screencasts.brickslabs.com/recordings/Nunt9VWWEsgXiusumWV5
Vimium remains unable to open a new tab with shift+F, on Orion 0.99.123.3-beta.
+1.
I myself don't use too many features of Vimium, just a few of them, so I think these are the most problematic two things, as they affect the main feature the most:
- shift+F not opening in a new tab
- after navigating back (either using vimium or in the standard browser way - just going back in history), F doesn't work at all and is stuck at "collecting hints"
