Can't use GoodLinks extension

The extension for GoodLinks (both Firefox and Chrome versions) can't be activated. After clicking the icon, I'm directed to sign in with my Apple ID, but after doing so, I'm redirected to a page with the message "Authentication Error. This action could not be completed. Please close the window and try again."

Using the network tools on the Apple ID verification page, I see a 421 misdirected request to Cloudkit.

GoodLinks syncs data over iCloud. But I'm not having this problem with other extensions that are synced over iCloud, like AnyBox.

I've tried using a fresh profile with tracking prevention and content blockers off, and with Safari user agent, but still the same problem.

For what it's worth, I have iCloud's Advanced Data Protection enabled.

Disable this and try again. In GoodLinks extensions for Firefox and Chrome, in description for both you can find, that the extensions does not work with Advance Data Protection.

Oops, I didn't see that. Thanks for spotting it. So @Vlad I guess this isn't a bug.

Turns out when installing this extension from Chrome store it doesn't work even if iCloud Advanced Data Protection is off. It fails when trying to authenticate my Apple ID.

Also fails when installing the addin from the Firefox store (not surprising--it's probably nearly the same code).

If it's more appropriate to create a new issue for this let me know:

An alternative for using the Goodlinks extension is to invoke Goodlinks with the Share extension. But this too isn't working. The modal that pops up just shows a spinning loading indicator.

I do have Advanced Data Protection turned on, but according to Goodlink's help pages this is supposed to work regardless:

It does work in Safari and Firefox.

I can log in to Goodlinks ok but I keep getting the same message when trying to save a page. Does the same on both Firefox and Chrome extensions

Any idea why I would be getting this error? I can log in correctly but every time I try to save a page to Goodlinks, I get the following error.
