I imported all of my Favorite sites from Safari.

When in Safari, I use Cmd + Opt + # to launch the favorite based on the position. It would be great if Orion can do that as well.

I am used to opening a new tab in Safari and launching a favorite link by using Cmd + Opt + # based on the position of the link in my favorites.

I find myself doing that when using Orion and was wondering if that can be implemented.

Dhuv Orion supports cmd + # for favorites. will that work?

I just tried that and Cmd + # focuses on the open tab just like Safari.

Vlad, is this actually implemented? The shortcut you recommended (Cmd + #) does not launch the favorite, it instead focuses on the currently open tab of that number. Cmd + # does the same in Safari. Safari has another shortcut (Cmd + Opt + #) that launches the favorite, that is what suggested to be implemented.

          It is not, my bad.

@Dhuv @Vlad Currently Cmd + Opt + # is used to switch between windows (i.e. if you have more than one window open). To implement this, we would either have to use a different shortcut to launch favorites or change the switch windows shortcut.

            What do you suggest?

Do you guys have stats on how many windows most people have open or how many people use the Cmd + Opt + # shortcut?

I personally would support the Safari shortcuts more closely but I can respect if the team feels that we cannot change the shortcut because people use it.

I am curious, do you have stats on the reasons users prefer Orion?

Dhuv Orion is a zero telemetry browser, hence no stats.

Dhuv We have a toggle in Preferences Use CMD+1 to CMD+9 to switch tabs, disabling that, the shortcut will be used to navigate to bookmarks in the Bookmarks Bar.

Please let me know if that solves your problem

Here is what I am noticing. Safari chooses from the Favorites, not the Bookmarks.

I would suggest that because when opening a new tab, you see the list of Favorites and it is easy for you to see what number you want to launch. The bookmark bar is hidden, displaying it opens a new window.

I also tried to copy the favorites to the bookmark bar and it seems that you cannot, they just move. I guess that makes sense since users would not want to duplicate them.

For now, I will manually add my favorite items to my bookmarks in the same order so that I can use the shortcuts. It is not ideal.

Dhuv ok, so your concern is to use Start Page favorites with shortcut?, as Orion uses separation between Bookmarks Bar and Favorites and Safari uses same folder for both.

In that case we will add an alternate approach to trigger Start Page favorites by shortcut. Be assured

Thank you. I only suggest this because I think it makes sense to users to visually see the icons and choose the number.
