Vlad This has definitely something to do with the Sync feature. I've been experiencing the same page reload problem on random web sites in random tabs. And it's not even a page reload, actually — Orion just navigates to the same URL as the first one in the history for the given tab at some random point in time and it happens for several tabs at once. Looks like an iCloud Sync event occurs that makes it do so. Another Orion instance open on another MacBook may be also affected, may be not — but when it is affected, it either does the same or just randomly tosses the same tabs around when it happens. Disabling Sync on one of the devices is a 100% working solution for me that stops this madness. But Sync is so practical...

I have Orion installed for only a couple of days but I'm already in love with its slick UI and all (I'm an Arc switcher where I switched to from Safari — can't stand Chrome and Firefox monsters at all for too many reasons). Please let's get it fixed -) Your browser is amazing, the dual extension support is just brilliant (even though it's not 100% complete). I can provide you with more details if necessary.

PPS. Disabling Sync on both devices and then reenabling it again seems to help as well (no more random reloads since I did it last time a few moments ago). But I experienced it before and my guts tell me it will happen again soon.

Unfortunately, the problem with iCloud Sync persists. It's so bad that it makes the Sync feature completely unusable... E.g. when trying to work with my account details on Hetzner.com, Orion is constantly kicking me off to the some preceding URL in the tab history and Hetzner eventually blocks my IP from accessing their website because it finds such frequent and random requests suspicious:

I simply cannot edit my credit card details because of that any more. Too sad. Disabling Sync in Preferences immediately stops this behaviour and this is the only way I can use the website. Hetzner is a random example, I'm seeing this on many other websites too (e.g. grok.com, a custom FreeScout installation web site and so on).

Sorry for the late response (I didn't get any notifications about new messages) — this problem has gone away with subsequent Orion updates, I didn't see anything like that in a long time. This just started happening to me on Version 0.99.134.2-rc (WebKit 622.1.15.19.2).
Happens on https://youtube.com and https://opencritic.com and probably more sites. I found no workaround yet (disabling sync did nothing to stop this).

I am having this problem since updating to Sonoma on my MB Air. Example website: https://www.onlyoffice.com (but the kicker is my proton mail inbox).
Disabling sync and setting compatibility mode for the website has no effect.
Some sites just refresh indefinitely; the example above generates "The process for this web page crashed or was terminated;" and sometimes Orion crashes.
All websites work normally in Safari.

I'm also having this issue. I got it on https://x.com before, on https://www.seriouseats.com.

Ironically, the first time I tried to write this post, Orion started spamming reloads when I scrolled to ₆₀ posts and I had to close it and open it in a new window without any other tabs to type this out.

Also, on a slightly related note, occasionally, for some websites which use client-side routing, when I try to navigate to their pages, it keeps on redirecting back to the home page, and I have to reopen it in a new window.

Dropping back to 0.99.136-beta (which happens to be the one you can currently download from the CDN for macOS Sequoia - I'm not clear whether past binaries are available: https://kagi.com/orion/#download_sec) seems to have resolved this. Incidentally switching to compatibility mode didn't seem to be helping much (and it was a problem with many websites…)

williamt This seems to be caused by the Firefox "Zotero Connector" extension (5.0.163). Typical URL it fails on - youtube.com homepage. Unfortunately however, although the Chrome extension (5.0.190) doesn't cause a refresh loop, it also doesn't work properly.
