Hi, is there any information on which engine Orion for Windows will be based on?

Andr Unfortunately not yet. Development for Orion on Windows is either very early in, or has not started at all. We should get some more information by the end of 2026 though.

Vistaus They're not. If a flatpak fails to launch the actual package is broken (see the Fedora flatpak repo breaking OBS). If an appimage fails to launch then it could be that the appimage is just broken... or it could be there's some random library missing from your distro it needs that wasn't included in the flatpak. Flatpaks ship with well-defined runtimes (shared mini-environments like Freedesktop or KDE runtimes). This makes them extremely consistent across distributions and versions. AppImages bundle whatever the packager decided to include. Sometimes they miss libraries or use mismatched versions. Leading to "works on my machine but crashes on yours" situations.

Cant wait for most of the kinks to be worked out. I know that the first public beta build should be finished around February, but do you think we could have a more specific estimate? Thanks.

IOnlyTakeWins Yeah. The current build is actually pretty fast already. And looks alright on KDE. But no extensions (not implemented in the current alpha) and no dark mode for the UI (the option doesn't work) means I can't main it yet. It's coming together though.

icar The AI Kagi has is pretty minimal, only effects the search engine AFAIK, and can be disabled entirely...
