I’m posting from the alpha build. Right off the bat, I can say it’s better than GNOME Web lol. It’s clearly still in alpha, and it feels that way, but there’s a ton of promise here.

I’ve only tested YouTube and Twitch so far. YouTube runs mostly ok-ish, but Twitch streams crash and throw angry messages in the terminal after a short while, or show "this browser isn't supported" messages randomly.

Also, the default tabs don’t theme correctly. If you have the dark theme enabled in GNOME, the tabs stay white, but the vertical tabs are fine.

I’ll be digging deeper over the weekend.

And ad blockers do not work yet, which is a shame because I wanted to switch to orion as soon as the alpha came out. I can deal with the other features that are not working.

Alright so the tabs being white means it's not styled with Adwaita colors, because those adapt by themselves to the dark theme.

When I had first looked over the shell ui the popups and dialogs didn't look libadwaita to me but I figured it was just temporary, if you do use adwaita thought should automatically be adaptive.

Shoggoth, if you could check out if touchpad swipe gestures work for navigation with the page flip animation?
If it works with gnome keyring for saving and retriving accounts?

From the milestone screenshots, it feels that custom widgets are being used where native adwaita ones exist, that makes it look a bit out of place, where native adwaita would look a lot better, would that change or is the plan to use custom widgets?

You could use a Adw.Sidebar

I have had that rendering bug in all webkit browsers, both GNOME Web, and Safari when I had turned this laptop into a hackintosh. So if someone could look into that, please.

I am on a ryzen 5 4600h if that helps.

So I'm unsure if this is an issue with my setup or what but mine looks like this.
On top of this it doesn't seem any settings will actually save, even simply changing the theme.

This is with a freshly installed flatpak, installed it via the following command:

Shoggoth What I tried to mean is not than no issue exist with AppImage, but than It’s build to work natively on any distro whiteout issue or doing weird stuff with your system. Flat or Snap is not future proof for me (even distrobox which emerging to install some apps), we should not on our personal machine do virtualization or containerization to use app. We should (and I hope it will) have a system to run any native apps on any distro, and It’s where AppImage seems to be an interesting way. But It lacks a good integrator. Tarball is interesting too but It's sometimes botch by the developers.
Sorry not Flatpack but Snap. Yeah this not the official way, but Ubuntu bothered us to use snap...

I will use Flatpack If needed, but I'm not convinced.
