Since the completion of Milestone 2, the team has been focused on expanding the browser’s functionality and laying the groundwork for extension support. Milestone 3 represents meaningful progress toward a more feature-complete browser.
What’s included in Milestone 3
Bookmarks system
The bookmarks system is now complete. Users can save pages, organize them into folders, and access bookmarks through the dialog, sidebar, or bookmarks bar. Improvements from Milestone 2 have been implemented, including more intuitive folder assignment when saving a new bookmark.
WebExtension core infrastructure
The WebExtension API is now built into our WebKitGTK by default, providing the core infrastructure necessary for extension support. This creates a foundation for future functionality and ensures compatibility with widely used browser extensions.
Basic extension installation mechanism
A basic extension installation flow has been added. While limited in scope, it allows users to install and activate extensions, representing the first step toward broader extension support.
What’s next
Milestone 4 will continue to expand on these capabilities, bringing more advanced features and refining existing ones. Planned areas of work include enhancements to tab management and additional extension-related improvements.
Your feedback helps us refine the experience. If you have thoughts, questions, or suggestions about the features introduced in Milestone 3, we’d love to hear from you.
