Orion closes a window without warning that it contains more than 1 tab

Steps to reproduce:
Close a browser window (click the Close window button or choose Command-W) that contains more than 1 tab.

Expected behavior:
Orion warns that the window contains several tabs and offers

to close the current tab
to close the window
to cancel

At the very least, Orion should issue a warning, as basically every other browser does.

The menu item to reopen the window last closed is no replacement because some tab may not be able to display the exact same content again and if you happen to inadvertently close two windows in a row, the first one is gone for good.

Actual behavior:
Orion closes the window immediately

Misunderstanding. I don’t refer to quitting the app, I mean closing a window (possibly one of many windows, so the app stays active). The issue is exactly the same in both cases, but the cases differ.

OmniWeb, which has been my main browser for 27 years (yes, from its NEXTSTEP days), has done so from the beginning, so I was completely convinced almost every browser does because it’s such an obvious feature. But actually, it seems to be one of the many details that make OmniWeb a superior browser, though sadly, its future seems uncertain and it’s a bit of a resource hog.

It’s an absolutely crucial feature for my workflow, as I tend to use the tabs of browser windows as To-Do lists, grouped in windows according to subjects. From my POV, being able to close such a window without any kind of warning is akin to being able to close a document window without being warned that its content is not saved yet.

I also fail to see the logic in being warned before closing the whole app, but not being warned before closing a window.

Uli Please describe the UX for this, perhps show a few screenshots form OmniWeb. I also used OmniWeb for a while (still have it on my iMac G4), forgot it had this.

This is an OmniWeb window with only 1 tab open:

This is an OmniWeb window with 2 tabs. Note that the red window Close button in the upper left becomes dirty as soon as you add the second tab. I find this the perfect way to signal that closing the window now might lose information:

If you press Command-W or use the corresponding menu entry in this state, the current tab is closed, just like in Orion.

However, if you click on the dirty Close button, the following sheet appears:
