Vlad it will also close the window until you try to close the pinned tab - then it will reorient you to one of the open tabs

for example, yandex browser requires double cmd+w to close the window (close last tab + close start page)

Vlad yep! but I propose to change it's behaviour to not close window with last tab

snoozerio This was explicitly asked by the users (to mimic Safari behavior) because it is the native behavior on macOS.

I see a few people have complained on this forum about this, but it's actually the behavior I'm looking for. Any chance we could get a setting?

I would like the whole window to close if I close the last tab. I do have 1 pinned tab, but most of the time it isn't loaded/active. If it is active, after pressing cmd + W (on the last non-pinned tab) I would want it to switch me to that pinned tab instead of closing the whole window.

coco-kazoo Can you propose the name and the place for the setting? Also highlight what browsers behave in th way you describe?

Vlad For example when I have a Safari window open with only 1 tab, pressing cmd + W closes the whole window. You can ignore everything I said about pinned tabs because it's not a big deal and it looks like Safari just closes the whole window regardless.

The setting might be located here: Orion > Settings > Browsing > Tabs > Close window when closing last tab

coco-kazoo Hm I am a bit confused. Can you compare Orion and Safari behavior and outline what the ask is?

I would love this feature as well. Arc, SigmaOS, and Vivaldi come to mind as other browsers with this feature, and they accomplish it in slightly different ways. Vivaldi has a seemingly simpler implementation where it just creates a new empty tab whenever the last tab in a workspace is closed. Arc and SigmaOS instead have a dedicated "background" environment that persists so it's possible to have the browser open without actually having any tabs open.

I also really miss this feature in Orion. I want to be able to close a tab without having to think about whether it is the last one open or not. I also loose full screen when the window is closed with the last tab.

A simple setting in the "Browsing" or "Advanced" section would be wonderful.

Vlad If you compare it to Safari, it works like Safari. Upon closing the last tab Orion will close the main window.

However, that's not what is being asked by people. What is being asked is to add a checkbox at "Orion > Settings > Tabs" named "Close window when closing last tab"

                  Behaviour:
When the checkbox is checked (true): Orion main window closes upon closing last tab (current behaviour)
When the checkbos is unchecked (false): Orion main window will not close upon closing last tab. But rather open a "new tab" with the "Start Page". (Similar behaviour on mobile Orion / mobile Safari).

Siebjee Perhaps opening a new feature suggestion would be in order
