Would it be possible to support the virtual backgrounds which are included in the Chromium engine version with visual backgrounds or is it a web engine limitation? Just wondering if this could be implemented.

I think Google Meet detects Chromium and enables these feature so I am going to say Nofix, unless Webkit makes it possible.

There's a set of 'requirements' here.

Without checking the Chromium source it's unclear if Meet actually checks for Chromium, or just Chromium implements the relevant functionality.

Alternatively you can just set user agent to Chrome in Orion and background show.

Vlad I just tried this, and get

This doesn't seem to depend on Chrome-specific features. I got virtual backgrounds to work using a user agent switcher extension and setting user agent to the newest version of Chrome for macOS. It would be nice if Orion does this automatically though. It's probably also fine to just use Chrome's user agent string for all sites.

lazyseq We prefer not to do this, but the user should stay in full control.

Vlad It might make sense to provide a way to switch user agent in per-site settings, since the average user may not know how to do this.
