as of today if you use "focus mode" and cmd+t for a new tab with a blank "start page" , you MUST press cmd+L to invoke the focused address bar

please allow the ability to inherit the usual behavior when not using focus mode; address bar focused immediately to enable typing right away. 🙂

          What happened? How did it happen? What are the steps to replicate the issue.
          When I open a new tab in focus mode, I have to hit cmd+L in order to start typing in the address bar.

          What did you expect to happen? Describe the desired functionality.
          If I open a new tab, I just want to start typing the destination immediately.

          What version of Orion are you running?
          0.99.125-beta

            heisznberg Ok great. I just purchased lifetime yesterday so maybe I should just be using RC all the time then.

                  I couldn’t find another thread addressing this issue, but I’ve encountered a similar problem even when not in focus mode. This has been happening on both my Mac and iPad. Every time I open a new tab, I have to press cmd+L to start searching something. I’m using a Magic Keyboard on iPad, if that matters.

                  iPad version: 1.3.10
                  Mac version: 0.99.127-beta (WebKit 619.1.1)

                      I am also experiencing this issue regardless of the “focus” setting. I’m on an iPad running latest iPadOS (18.3.1) and latest Orion (1.3.17). It honestly makes Orion almost unusable. Excited to try it, but this is aggravating.
