Steps to reproduce:

  • Use Orion iOS as usual, leave the tab open at least 1
  • Minimize Orion iOS, use other apps, lock your phone, and use your life
  • Comeback, pick your iPhone, unlock then open Orion iOS to continue browsing
  • Boom!!! It's unresponsive, I cannot scroll or touch on any element of Orion UI.

Noted: this happen to me randomly but I experience this issue many times a day.

Expected behavior:
I should be able to use Orion iOS as usual.
UI should not be frozen.

The only solution to fix is I need to kill Orion and re-open.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion: 1.2.9 (1) (WebKit 8615.2.9.10.3)
iOS: 16.5
Hardware: iPhone 13

Noted 1:
when I open Orion it looks like I didn't do anything but actually I try to scroll the page / touch on every UI element.

Note 2:
The only solution to fix is I need to kill Orion and re-open.

I’ve found that this happens to me as well. It seems like as if a screenshot of the previous state is overlaid and never disappears. Sometimes, I can still interact with content and invoke keyboard shortcuts, but it does appear frozen at other times.

I‘m having the same issue. It‘s so „severe“ that I had to stop using Orion.

Sometimes I also am able to click into the url bar and the keyboard appears, but when I type, nothing actually gets typed.

It doesn‘t seem to matter if I have 1 or 20 tabs. though this might have to be tested further.

      I‘m on iPhone 13 iOS 16.4.1 (20E252).

Does anyone have any steps to reproduce this? I use Orion iOS daily and never had this happen.

This happens to me several times a day. 😕 (iPhone 13 Mini)
I’m not sure how to reproduce, as I don’t do anything special - but I wonder if it’s even worse if the site I was on has video streaming. (So that could be something to try.)

It happens to me as well. Looks random so it’s hard to willingly reproduce, but usually is when the app has stayed in background for some time, and at least another app has been used.

        I’m on iPhone SE, OS 16.5, Orion version 1.2.9 (1) (WebKit 8615.2.9.10.3).

This happens to me multiple times a day. I feel like it happens from when I open a link from email or another app. I have wondered if related to sync (I mentioned that in a thread about sync). I know it is frustrating to hear from us without clear steps. If I see a pattern I will post. Later I will turn of sync to rule it out possibly.

Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce it too easily. I tried to use it, wait a few minutes (between 5-10 minutes) but it still worked normally. Then, when I tried again the next morning (so several hours later) it happened again. I can try to narrow down if time between usage matters (or at least in what capacity), but it may take some time and I‘m not sure, if I‘ll be able to track it too meticulously. 🙂

The one commonality between the people who wrote here is that all seem to use an iPhone 13? (though someone seems to use a mini while I use a regular 13). Might be illogical, but you know how those things go in bug fixing 😉

Edit: Ups, sorry, just saw the one comment where the user is using iPhone SE, so yeah..

RobOK For me, it most certainly has nothing to do with syncing stuff as it happens on „regular“ usage.
Might still be worth looking into the sync thing of course!

typischt also happens to me often on iPhone 14 pro max.
              Happens a lot on app.sunsama.com

I’ve also not found a clear pattern but it happens a lot on my iPhone 14 pro. And indeed after having Orion inactive for a while.
Today I uninstalled Orion and reinstalled it to see if using it without customizations keeps the freezing away. Maybe from there I can find a pattern.

Hello, I am also having this issue. Next time I chance upon it, I will try to record it. It is very odd because it lets me type in the search, but the browser is frozen.

iOS 15, iPod touch 7th generation

It happens to me as well (iPhone 11, IOS 16.1). Frequent but difficult to reproduce, unknown pattern.

                      Steps to reproduce:
On iOS (iPhone 14), often when I come back from the background, I’m not able to click or scroll anything, including the page, the address bar, menu, etc. When I force close the app and restart it, it works again. This issue is intermittent but happens frequently.

I’ve attached a video; it’s not very eventful but it’s just me tapping all the menu buttons and the page itself. The only response is that when I tap the address bar the keyboard pops up but typing in it doesn’t do anything (clicking “Go” closes it).

                      Expected behavior:
Everything should be responsive after coming back from the background.

                      Orion, OS version; hardware type:
                      1.2.9 (1) (WebKit 8614.3.7.0.6)
                      iOS 16.2
                      iPhone XR

SheepAware Is it reproducible every time for you? If not what are the inimum steps to reproduce this?

same on my IOS 16.1, iphone X
