This happens to me several times a day. (iPhone 13 Mini)
Iām not sure how to reproduce, as I donāt do anything special - but I wonder if itās even worse if the site I was on has video streaming. (So that could be something to try.)
Orion iOS is randomly freeze when unused for a while
It happens to me as well. Looks random so itās hard to willingly reproduce, but usually is when the app has stayed in background for some time, and at least another app has been used.
Iām on iPhone SE, OS 16.5, Orion version 1.2.9 (1) (WebKit 8615.2.9.10.3).
This happens to me multiple times a day. I feel like it happens from when I open a link from email or another app. I have wondered if related to sync (I mentioned that in a thread about sync). I know it is frustrating to hear from us without clear steps. If I see a pattern I will post. Later I will turn of sync to rule it out possibly.

Unfortunately, I canāt reproduce it too easily. I tried to use it, wait a few minutes (between 5-10 minutes) but it still worked normally. Then, when I tried again the next morning (so several hours later) it happened again. I can try to narrow down if time between usage matters (or at least in what capacity), but it may take some time and Iām not sure, if Iāll be able to track it too meticulously.
The one commonality between the people who wrote here is that all seem to use an iPhone 13? (though someone seems to use a mini while I use a regular 13). Might be illogical, but you know how those things go in bug fixing
Edit: Ups, sorry, just saw the one comment where the user is using iPhone SE, so yeah..
Iāve also not found a clear pattern but it happens a lot on my iPhone 14 pro. And indeed after having Orion inactive for a while.
Today I uninstalled Orion and reinstalled it to see if using it without customizations keeps the freezing away. Maybe from there I can find a pattern.
janpeeters Thanks for doing that!
Hello, I am also having this issue. Next time I chance upon it, I will try to record it. It is very odd because it lets me type in the search, but the browser is frozen.
iOS 15, iPod touch 7th generation
It happens to me as well (iPhone 11, IOS 16.1). Frequent but difficult to reproduce, unknown pattern.

Steps to reproduce:
On iOS (iPhone 14), often when I come back from the background, Iām not able to click or scroll anything, including the page, the address bar, menu, etc. When I force close the app and restart it, it works again. This issue is intermittent but happens frequently.
Iāve attached a video; itās not very eventful but itās just me tapping all the menu buttons and the page itself. The only response is that when I tap the address bar the keyboard pops up but typing in it doesnāt do anything (clicking āGoā closes it).
Expected behavior:
Everything should be responsive after coming back from the background.
Orion, OS version; hardware type:
1.2.9 (1) (WebKit 8614.3.7.0.6)
iOS 16.2
iPhone XR

SheepAware Is it reproducible every time for you? If not what are the inimum steps to reproduce this?
same on my IOS 16.1, iphone X
Same issue, iphone 13 pro

i get this too.
iphone 13 mini, latest stable iOS
notable settings: full adblock, bitwarden extension
it seems to only happen on pretty heavy websites
We released an update today that should address this.

Vlad it appears to not have been fixed. It still randomly happens. I noticed that Orion has to stay in the suspended state (unused in the app switcher) for a while, like more than 30min and it shouldnāt be the second or third app within the switcher, ensure itās 8-10th app meaning itās been a while since you used it (hard for a browser I use as my daily driver)
I noticed the same happens on iPad. Iām running iPadOS 17b3
iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 17b3
