Steps to reproduce:

  • Visit https://github.com
  • Login
  • "Create something new" overlay menu is always visible and cannot be dismissed
This also happens with compatibility mode enabled

Expected behavior:
Overlay menu should only be visible when activated and it should be possible to dismiss it

I'm seeing this as well (same Orion build).

Vlad It's on https://github.com while signed in. I noticed this only happens when GitHub's "Global navigation update" feature preview is enabled. This can be toggled by clicking on your profile picture in the top right and then going to "Feature preview".

sammy can you confirm if this is the case in Safari/Safari STP?

Vlad Safari works fine. STP (Release 170, Safari 16.4, WebKit 18616.1.14.5) seems to have a different issue where clicking on the "+" menu button does not bring up the menu.

sammy In both cases it appears to be a WebKit issue.

I updated orion this morning and I don't have this issue anymore

Can confirm this happens on desktop, while running the latest RC (Version 0.99.125.9-rc (WebKit 618.1.2))

Extra info: MacBook Pro (M1 Pro) (macOS Sonoma 14.0 build 23A344)

Safari does not exhibit the same behaviour (Safari Version: Version 17.0 (19616.1.27.211.1))

Chiming in to say I see this on current RC as well:

                    0.99.125.9-rc (WebKit 618.1.2)
                    MacBook Pro M1 Pro (21), macOS Sonoma 14.1 (23B74)
