Yotube vidoes pausing when skipping in timeline
Still having issue in lates RC Version 0.99.123.3.9-rc (WebKit 616.1.10)
this happens sometimes:
play/pause/play/pause etc..
Steps to reproduce:
Go to https://www.youtube.com/ and start watching any video. Click somewhere in the video timeline to jump forwards. The video will now pause and unpause continually; CPU usage goes high; tab-close button and tab menu become very slow or unresponsive. This does not happen in compatibility mode. It could be that something changed on the YouTube site, but I think this only started happening after upgrading to 0.99.124.
Expected behavior:
Video should continue to play smoothly, even in "not compatibility" mode, like in previous Orion version.
Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion 0.99.124, macOS 12.6, Macbook Pro (Retina, 15", mid-2015) 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM.

I'm not experiencing this behavior. Currently on macOS Ventura 13.3.1, 2021 MacBook Pro 16 inch. The video does stay paused, but that has more to do with the default settings if I'm not mistaken (videos are set to not auto-play).
Thanks for following up.
@shortHairRASTA is right, it only happens when the auto-play switch is on. (The auto-play switch is about halfway along the controls on the lower edge of the video: it looks like a short slider with either a play or pause icon in the thumb).
So, revised steps to reproduce: Go to https://www.youtube.com/ , not in compatibility mode, and start watching any video. Set 'auto-play' to on. Click somewhere in the video timeline to jump forwards. The video will now pause and unpause continually.
It doesn't happen in Safari; doesn't happen in compatibility mode; didn't happen before 0.99.124.
think this might be the same

I'm experiencing the same issue. It doesn't seem to occur in auto-generated mixes or playlists (it only occurs when there's the auto play toggle).
See video.
Correction: this does happen in Compatibility Mode, but the trigger is different. In Compatibility Mode with Youtube autoplay off, if I use the Youtube search box (not the Orion address bar) to find a video, then start playing the video, I immediately see this play/pause issue. Weird!
Sometimes it even happens when I just pause a video (in Compatibility Mode, with autoplay off). But not every time.

I was able to confirm rapid play/pause sequence in videos today.

Steps to reproduce:
Open a Youtube video, if you want the same as my screen recording is this one, open the vertical tabs bar, and leave sound on, then play the video and skip forward on the timeline(this is not a 100%, so you may need a couple of tries, for me 5 tries is enough to see the problem at least once) , then the "flickering" between play and pause in the player button starts, and sometimes the video doesn't play anymore and just stay stucked on this flickering".
Expected behavior:
I expected to be able to skip to any moment in the video without it getting stuck, and in the cases where the video already starts stuck, I expected to be able to watch the videos normaly(press play and the video plays).
Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Version 0.99.124.1-beta (WebKit 616.1.10)
MacBook Pro (macOS Ventura 13.3.1 (a) build 22E772610a)d
Also worth mentioning, when I did the screen recording I already was using a clean profile without any extensions, but I've also seen the bug on a profile used for longer with extensions. About the actual problem, to me it seams as if the browser is "pressing/triggering" the play/pause button really fast, but that doesn't explain the mouse also flickering.
I also have more screen recording of the problem on the same profile where the playback actually hangs and is not able to continue when I skip forward, I couldn't upload beacuse of the file size, but if you think it's necessary I think I can upload do google drive or something and provide a link here.
