Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install the new RC build
  2. Use vertical tabs and have the side bar open
  3. Close the Orion window or Quit Orion
  4. Reopen/Relaunch Orion
  5. The side bar is now hidden and requires the user to manually reopen it

Expected behavior:
Orion should remember the state of the side bar. This has been case before this update.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Version 0.99.123.3.1-rc (WebKit 615.1.16.1)
MacBook Air (macOS Ventura 13.2.1 build 22D68)

laiz Is this different than beta? Also can you confirm with latest RC?

      Vlad
On Version 0.99.123.3-beta (WebKit 615.1.16.1) Orion always launches with the sidebar open when using vertical tabs.
On Version 0.99.123.3.3-rc (WebKit 616.1.4.5) OrionRC always launches with the sidebar hidden/closed when using vertical tabs.
I personally think the way it is done on beta is the preferred way as most users will want to see their tabs right away. The way it is on RC is frustrating for the end user as they have to jump through additional hoops before they can access their tabs.

I've been experiencing this problem recently; has it returned?

Vlad Yes, though it requires quitting, not just closing the window.
