Hi,
I love the profiles feature, and I'm super that it get some more love on the desktop.
Just wondering, when/if we can also get the same on iOS/iPadOS, so I can fully switch to Orion as my main browser on ALL devices?
Thanks!

True, there is no mobile browser that supports this as far as I know.
As said, I have pretty much switched to Orion in desktop as my main browser since profile support has come in.
Profiles on mobile would allow me to switch fully to Orion on my iPad and iPhone as well. Especially if the tabs sync on the profiles. I like to keep my personal stuff and work stuff separate. Thus I now use Orion on Mac and then Safari for my personal stuff on iOS/iPadOS while Brave for work on iOS/iPadOS. As you can imagine tabs wonโt sync like that. :$
That said, I am not sure if it is possible to have profiles on iOS/iPadOS.
Thanks
Please add profiles to the mobile browser.
Not aware of any other mobile browser which supports profiles but with Focus Modes the Profiles UI for Orion on iOS should be the least of concerns, as you could additionally support the focus filter feature to switch profiles automatically. TBH that would be desirable on macOS too, instead of relying on multiple orion.app instances (I know some people like it that way so yeah another knob to add to settings and Iโm stealing this thread for another feature for another platform ).
Vlad Edge supports multi-profile! - although the second/third account should be a work account...
Vlad Sure.
Edge's multi profile supports more than two work/school accounts with a single personal account.
The user can easily press and switch the profile without heading to preferences, and all bookmarks & histories are stored separately.
The profile works as same as Chromium / Orion profiles.
They have independent history, bookmarks, etc. However, they don't sync sessions, cookies, ...
I summarized how both browsers work & integrates with accounts.
- Orion Desktop
Multiple accounts - NO (single iCloud for syncing)
Multiple profiles - YES (multiple profile per account)
Multiple synced profiles - NO, but YES? (currently, only 'default' is synced)

- Orion Mobile
Multiple accounts - NO
Multiple profiles - NO
Multiple synced accounts - NO
- Edge Desktop
Multiple accounts - YES (one personal + more work/school MS account)
Multiple profiles - YES (one profile per MS account, local profiles are supported)
Multiple synced accounts - YES
- Edge Mobile
Multiple accounts - YES (same as above)
Multiple profiles - YES (same as above, local profiles not supported)
Multiple synced accounts - YES
While Orion has tons of great features (and some of them unheard of from other browsers), the user experience differs a lot from desktop to mobile. I think adding profiles to Orion mobile would be great in terms of continuity.
However, implementing profiles to Orion mobile might be worthless unless multiple profiles being synced. In my use-case, I manage four profiles - one for personal, one for school, and two for work. And I want all three being synced via icloud, like Edge does. Currently, I'm using Orion, Chrome and two Edge profiles at the same time, since Orion's non-default profiles are not synced between devices.
and thanks @Vlad for making a nice browser
Possible UI implementations from Edge:
iOS recording
Edge desktop capture
could u clarify difference between accounts, synced accounts, and profiles, synced profiles?
eirk
Sure.
Accounts - emails. Since Edge and Chrome are from MS and Google, they have their own email address. Although Orion doesn't have one, it uses iCloud to sync. Hence, Orion's account is the iCloud account.
Profiles - a profile is a repository (or an encapsulated form) for a user's browser. It usually contains history, bookmarks, autofills. It may also have preferences, open tabs, and even cookies (not recommended). Chrome and Edge's implementation of profile is simple - multiple profile, and each profile can be synced using a account.
Synced Profiles - the data are synced as they are on Orion's default profile.
Orion should sync multiple profiles first, as @Vlad planned.

Implementing multi-profile for Orion mobile would be worthless useless without it.
