In Safari, holding Shift allows selecting a range of tabs, and holding Command allows selecting or deselecting individual tabs. Selected tabs get a slightly darker highlight. After selecting multiple tabs, users can perform batch actions — for example, drag them into a new window in one move (or add them into another window).
