Reopened tabs (Cmd + Shift + T) should retain their back history - right now they are restored without any history.

Open a tab, browse a few pages. Open a second tab, close the first tab. Realise you didn't want to do that - reopen original tab via Cmd + Shift + T. Tab is restored, but the back button doesn't go anywhere, as there's no back stack available.

Firefox and Safari both do this.

Additionally, when a window is restored, the history of each of the restored window's tabs should be retained.

Fortrikka changed the title to Reopened tabs ⌘⇧T should retain their back history .

I second this, very annoying to have tabs that doesn't keep their history when recently closed.

        Steps to reproduce:

        1. Have a window with two tabs open.
        2. In one of the tabs, go to https://www.duckduckgo.com
        3. then, go to https://kagi.com
        4. observe that the back button is not disabled
        5. Close that tab, and reopen that tab.
        6. Observe that the back button is now disabled

        Expected behavior:

The tab history should still be there, and the forward/back buttons should work

Have tested on the same person of Orion and can confirm that this issue is present. My guess is that the WKBackForwardList isn't saved with the current page when a tab is closed. The issue however, is with the restoration of the WKBackForwardList as it is not implemented on the WKWebView object as get/set. This shouldn't be an issue though since they use a custom build of webkit anyways. Nice find!

Also, when Cmd+Click the back button, the newly opened tab in Chrome keeps all the forward and backward history from the current tab. Having this feature would also be appreciated.

            1. Open tab
            2. Click some link so there is history
            3. Close tab
            4. Reopen tab with cmd+shift+t
            5. Tab history is gone

            Expected behavior:

Still able to go back in history after restoring a tab

Is it possible to get tab history to be saved when you close and open the app? (By tab history, I mean not only are your tabs saved, but the history within them as well.) It's really annoying to be in the middle of researching something and then your tab history is lost because you closed the app. It'd be nice to have this feature on both desktop and mobile, but it's especially noticeable on mobile. I just switched to Orion on mobile, and it's harder to deal with the loss of tab history on my phone where Orion is cleaned from RAM more often than on my MacBook.

                    Steps to reproduce:

                    1. Close a tab with back/forward pages.
                    2. Cmd+Shift+T to Reopen Closed Tab.
                    3. Note that previous page is opened, but back/forward history for that tab is missing.

                    Expected behavior:
Orion should restore tab back/forward history on reopening a closed tab.

                        Steps to reproduce:
Open one or more tabs on the iOS app, and navigate through a few pages in the tab(s) so that the back button is available, allowing navigation back through the browsing history of the tab. Swipe up to return to the Home Screen, and don't use your phone for a bit (or use some other apps for a while). Then re-open Orion, and note that you cannot use the back button on any tabs any longer.

                        Expected behavior:
Each tab retains its history so that when you return later, you can still navigate back using the back button or swipe gesture. Tested this in Safari, and it works as expected.
