The default bookmark bar in orion it tiny, in comparison it is roughly half the vertical size of chromium browsers and I personally often find it too small to properly make out favicons or quickly distinguish multiple bookmarks.

I'd love for this to either be expanded/an option in settings for a bigger bookmark bar for those who want it.

Seconding this! Just downloaded Orion and this is one of the first things I noticed.

B4ND1T Orion follows macOS design conventions, while Chrome follows Windows where it originated. Safari has the same size as Orion. We are all on a Mac. We can't add an option for every tiny preference, sorry.

Vlad Not dissagreeing that it's a small thing and you guys are extremely busy with more important stuff.

But saying you can't/won't do it because it's different to Safari would mean pretty much ever post on this forum should also be NoFix because it's not how Safari does things.

Orion is supposed to be MORE than safari.

I understand your logic, but I am not 100% sure it applies here. Safari actually does not support favicons (Icons in the Bookmark Bar). So the fact that favicons are possible on Orion is already pulling a design choice from a non-MacOS browser. One of the reasons I first jumped to Orion was because I learned it could do favicons (they are important to me for showing a bunch of bookmarks on the bar).

Here is quick screenshot of my bookmark bar in Orion vs Chrome. You can see that Orion's are notably smaller. As OP has mentioned, it makes it tougher to properly make out favicons or quickly distinguish multiple bookmarks.

jmm6486 That is an example of good thing we took from Chrome.

One of the main requirements for a browser is using least amount of vertical space and we are hesitant to increase the size of bookmarks bar for this reason.

Vlad Yeah, I get that you have to pick and choose, especially given how many other important things there are that are higher priority, I think what me and @jmm6486 are trying to ask is if instead of this being a "Nofix" issue, that it could be "planned" but very low priority maybe even an "eventually" tag to represent the really niche smaller things that in the long term may be implemented, but not at all a priority.

With the latest version of Safari Bookmark bar Favicons have arrived and are now far larger than that of orion whilst the entire top section of the browser takes the exact same vertical space.

Orion's Favicons measure 13 relative units whereas Safari's measure 19.

B4ND1T Can you open a new post for increasing favicons, if that is desired
