Steps to reproduce:
Given a javascript based web page that has any sort of time based activity navigating to another tab will cause the javascript activity to slow down in strange ways. The easiest way I've found it reproduce it is to open something like this music generator https://www.vitling.xyz/toys/acid-banger/ and then open a new tab. The tempo of the generated music will slow noticably as another tab is drawn until focus is restored to the tab containing the javascript.

Expected behavior:
No change in processing in the background, or some way to say I want to allow the tab to continue to use resources?

scribe The same appears to happen in Safari, which indicates WebKit default behavior. If you believe it is a bug you may report it to WebKit https://webkit.org/reporting-bugs/

(this is why in the bug report template we have a a question of does it work in the same way as Safari)
