I do not mind that extensions don't auto update because that can be a security / privacy threat, although an option to allow it per extension would be nice.
But, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to update an extension.
Do I need to uninstall (and lose my configuration) then re-install?
Can I just install the new version over the top and keep my settings?

I have tried clicking the "circle arrow" button in the extensions dialog, assuming it meant update, but nothing happens.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install an extension
  2. Wait until it gets updated
  3. Try to figure out how to update the installed extension

Expected behavior:
Have a button for each extention in the Tools -> Extensions -> Manage dialog that will update the extension

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion 0.99.121.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)
macOS Version 12.6.1 (Build 21G217)

Installing an extension over the top of itself works without losing my previous settings, except for permissions.

I have an extension that is seet to deny for all sites, with exceptions for the site I want it to work on. Re-installing the extension reset those permissions. Not a big deal to set them back up again.

What does the "circle arrow" button in the extensions manager do? (See the first image above) Clicking it does nothing that I can see. I assumed it meant update, but it doesn't do that.

in previous versions, the buttons were: reload options uninstall
the circular arrow now means reload.
cc @Vlad i mentioned this previously in discord saying that I thought that the new icons weren't descriptive enough
