adamt Can you identify which of the above is causing the slowdown (by disabling them one by one). I am suspecting perhaps background image.

We will obviously need more information to reproduce the issue.

Vlad Yes, turning off background image fixes the problem. Sorry for not trying to debug.

Vlad I have the same issue as well, independently of the presence of the background image. I had to relocate the bookmarks else where to avoid the lag...

We check our background image implementation.

@Vlad just reinstalled macOS and WFM now. Not sure if the latest update was after this your last post or not but could be the last Web\kit update, something you did or upgrading from original Monterey to Ventura on my computer or an app I haven't reinstalled yet I will check after each reinstall for you. (if so sorry, if it wasn't the WebKit upgrade or your magic.) Its affecting some onion else so can you reply @Ahmed if fixed for you?

adamt It's still laggy on the latest Ventura update. It's no biggie but it still has to be fixed eventually. Happy new year as well!

Are there concrete steps to reproduce the laggy behavior?

@Vlad I've worked it out. As my bookmark tiles are populating into Icons, this is causing the lag. So the issue is with that part of the code. My bookmarks are a mess anyway but need time to sort out. Safari is ok. HTH
