Vlad

Is there anything we can do to help you solve this or at least narrow the problem down?

Until now we know:

  • Looks like it’s not an Apple Silicon problem (also appears on intel macs)
  • It’s not specific to Monterey or Ventura
  • Doesn’t matter what mouse/trackpad we use
  • Holding shift doesn’t work anymore
  • It only affects horizontal tabs, not vertical tabs displayed in a sidebar
  • Turning off extensions doesn’t change anything
  • Bug appeared after the last update for most users

I guess that’s not enough to understand what goes wrong. Orion is my favourite browser but I needed to switch because my job requires having lots of tabs open. 🙁

13 days later

happening for me on M1 - Monterrey 12.6.

    Steps to reproduce:
Opened over 16+ Tabs, (research), and noted that Tabs on the left (or 'offscreen) had no way for me to 'locate them, or click them' they were basically 'out of range'

    Expected behavior:
Was expecting maybe some form of pagination (obvious way) to navigate to overflow tabs.

    Orion, OS version; hardware type:
    Version 0.99.121.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)
    MBPro, i9, 2019

    Image/Video:

Merged 1 post from Overflow Tabs, Can become Non-Selectable.

        Steps to reproduce:

If you open 11 tabs with two pinned tabs, the first one will disappear.

You can access them with cmd+number of the tab, but there is no scrolling on the menu bar, and if I want to click on them, I have to close the open tabs until they appear again.

        Orion, OS version; hardware type:
MacBook Pro (macOS Monterey 12.6.1 build 21G217)
        Version 0.99.121.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)

          5 days later
Merged 1 post from Tabs that disappear when there are a lot of them open.

The same problem after the last update, quite critical, unfortunately I had to return to Safari, I hope temporarily.

              11 days later

My personal experience with scrolling horizontal tabs using 0.99.122-beta on an M1 MBP...

              • Trackpad -- works
              • Apple Magic Mouse -- works
              • Logitech MX master mouse: shift + vertical wheel scroll -- works
              • Logitech MX master mouse: horizontal wheel scroll -- does not work

It appears that the horizontal wheel scroll -- which I believe is the same as the left/right vertical wheel tilt on many mice -- is not being handled. It does work correctly in Safari.
