Hi everyone,

I have a ‘mistake’ that happened to me a few times already, that I find really annoying.
On the desktop version of Orion, I have the Tab Bar visible, and it's filled with folders of bookmarks. Sometimes I click one folder and I move just a tiny bit, and instead of opening it, it’s moving it. So it’s either getting displaced and mixing with another folder, or worse, it’s getting just a big out of the Tab Bar, and it’s trashed. I don’t know if it’s possible to come back from such an action, but in case it’s not possible, the folder and its content are lost.

Would there be a way to implement a feature to ‘lock’ the tab bar in its ‘state’? So no amount of ‘mishandling’ can destroy what’s already there?

I think my problem is also connected to an issue I posted, where the tab bar reacts strangely and folders/bookmarks gets ‘tangled’.

    Can you first verify that Safari behavior is not as sensitive and describe the main diferences in behaviors to the best ability you can?

        Hi Vlad, thank you for answering :-) so fast!

        I realize that both my topics are kind of the same problem and maybe they should be merged or one of them should be discarded.
        I tried to reproduce my problem(s) on Safari and couldn’t. The bookmarks ‘act normally’ on Safari, they don’t get stuck of mixed, they don’t stay when deleted, they move normally. If I try to move one away to trash it, there is a slight ‘spring action’, just a bit of resistance, I suppose to avoid doing it by mistake.
        See below 2 videos, the first is of the behavior I expect and that I saw on Safari, and the second is what happens on Orion.

            Steps to reproduce:

            I just moved folders around in my tab bar.

            Expected behavior:

            Folders moving normally.

            Orion, OS version; hardware type:

            • Orion Version 0.99.121-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)
            • macOS 12.6
            • Mac mini M1

              I put some explanation and videos on my other thread.
              I can’t seem to reproduce this bug today (although it happened to me on more than one occasion), but the steps were:
              —I was trying to open a bookmarks folder in the bookmarks bar
              —by mistake, i would move a folder around instead of opening it (just with a slight move)
              —when I tried to put it back in its place (the order of the folders on the bar)
              —it would become ‘entangled’ like in my screenshot above
              —after closing and opening Orion again, the visual bug would be fixed
