Steps to reproduce:
It is a bit difficult to reproduce the steps as it happens randomly on sites. However, after using the extension for a while on Orion, sometimes, after going onto a site that I wish to log in on, I will click on the Bitwarden icon in my extensions and the pop up won't appear. Even if I right click the extension and click the manual 'autofill' buttons they do not work.

I tried this on Edge and Safari and they work 100% of the time.

Expected behavior:
When you click on the bitwarden extension icon, it should pop up a menu which should allow you to browse your saved passwords and such.

Orion and macOS:
MacOS version 12.0.1
Orion Version 0.99.108.1-Beta

I will update this post once I get this to happen again but just imagine an irresponsive/dead button that doesn't do anything once you click it when it should pop something out.

    In my own case, I find that Bitwarden works OK for UID and PW, but if used for TOTPs can't paste them in. Seeing same behavior in both Chrome and Firefox versions of the Bitwarden extension.

    Using macOS 12.0.1, Orion Version 0.99.108.1-beta.

    Is the site in compat mode? That'll disable all extensions. Unfortunately, I can only get Discord to load in compat, but then I can't login automatically using Bitwarden!

    Bitwarden doesn't work almost at all for me because of this bug. Basically any website I go to and try to use a saved password, the extension either doesn't open at all or just flashes briefly. I've attached videos of websites that both have a password saved for me and one that doesn't. I can click the extension open when I'm not on a page with a password field, but whenever there's a password field it just doesn't work. M1 air, Macos 12.3.1 and Orion 0.99.114-beta. Tried disabling all other extensions etc to no avail. I also did the json workaround for biometric authentication, and that didn't fix this bug either.


      I have the same issue (both using the Chrome and Firefox extension). Right clicking on the field and going through the bitwarden menu to autocomplete doesn't work. So there is no work around to my knowledge.

        @Vlad I experienced this issue after update to Orion 0.99.114-beta.
        Perhaps something in 114 broke it.

          This started happening for me on 0.99.114-beta as well. No issues before the update.

            I just ran in to this issue for the first time this evening, seems to be happening on specific URLs. The one where I experienced it is https://webmail.myunixhost.com. I can consistently duplicate the popup closing immediately upon clicking the Bitwarden icon in the toolbar. However, right clicking in the fields and going to Bitwarden and selecting an autofill option seems to be working on this page.

              Steps to reproduce:
              Navigate to https://www.notion.so and attempt to click the Bitwarden icon to open the extension menu to allow auto-fill. Note that Bitwarden does not open. Switch to another tab and note that Bitwarden opens on that tab. This is very much like https://orionfeedback.org/d/351-bitwarden-not-opening-when-clicked-sometimes which was marked as Done.

              Expected behavior:
              Bitwarden should open when clicked, regardless of the URL of the current tab.

                I cannot reproduce this, did you try reinstall Bitwarden or install from different store?
                Mine install from Firefox store and it working fine with notion.so

                  SukinoVerse that’s very interesting. I too use the Firefox store version. I did not attempt to reinstall the extension.

                      ajgraves Can you reinstall the extension and try to reproduce this again? I was experience other issue (e.g. cannot copy TOTP) and it solved after re-installed.

                          SukinoVerse Re-installing did not fix for me, it still will not open on notion.so. The reinstall pulled a new version though, version number is now 2022.6.1 (patiently waiting for extension auto-update)

                              @SukinoVerse so I discovered something interesting... I had the notion.so domain set in the compatibility mode settings. Once I removed the domain from compatibility mode, the extension opens as expected when I click on it now. I just tested on another domain, and it seems as though when compatibility mode is enabled for a site, the Bitwarden extension does not open when you click on its icon. Disabling compatibility mode restores functionality.

                              All, this was a miss on my part, that compatibility mode kills extensions, and that is expected behavior. Please close this report accordingly. Apologies for the extra noise!
