Hi everyone! I would be extremely happy to see a guide or an FAQ entry on how to uninstall the Desktop Orion "properly", i.e. with all config files and settings removed.

I have been trying to uninstall Orion and all its config files for days now, but simply deleting the app and the corresponding folder in ~/Library/Application Support/ doesn't seem to be enough. When I re-install Orion, it just calls up the same settings (e.g. homepage, content blocker settings etc.) as in the old install.

Perhaps that could be added to the FAQ some time soon? 🙃

And no, I don't actually want to get rid of Orion: It's the other way round! I have made some misconfigurations and I would like a totally fresh start. That'd give me some peace of mind. 🙂

its probably the settings file. ~/Library/Preferences/com.kagi.kagimacOS.plist.
    the other files/folders:

    ~/Library/WebKit/com.kagi.kagimacOS
    ~/Library/Caches/com.kagi.kagimacOS
    ~/Library/HTTPStorages/com.kagi.kagimacOS.binarycookies

    its in the faq: https://browser.kagi.com/faq.html#techdoc

eirk Oh, obviously I didn't scroll down far enough. 🤣

      Thank you so much!

luenewig Just proves that no matter how much time you spend writing documentation, people will still not find it/read it and be lost. What could we do differently?

the FAQ page is not proper documentation. its extremely long, and not categorized in any way that makes it super easy to read and search in.

I recommend making it into a proper wiki page eg with gitbook or something similar, so that it is open-source and users can easily help contribute documentation.

eirk IWe will have fully open source documentation within a week

alucard even that is not comprehensive and leaves some config files remaining, but is probably enough for most use cases
