  • Can't move overflow menu field to view toolbar items in edit mode

  • BugsDesktopDone

Steps to reproduce:

  • Right click toolbar
  • Customise toolbar

Expected behavior:
To be able to move the 'overflow menu' mini window out of the way so I can click and drag toolbar items located beneath it, into my toolbar.

    Steps to reproduce:

When I open the toolbar customization window, the overflow menu pops up in front and covers part of the icons. It seems that I'm not able to drag the window around.

Steps: View -> Customize toolbar. Is this a bug or is there something I don't see?

On my 13" MacBook it didn't work, but I just connected it to an external 27" and that actually solved the issue. Thanks so much for the quick reply!

Still, I guess it would be good to change this for people without an extra screen.

jfleck Can you send a full screen screenshot for 13"?

I also have the same issue

Issue still present on latest beta.

Issue could be solved by upping the resolution, but the default resolution is the best for my eyesight.

TheBitStick Not sure what we are supposed to do when there is not enough spac eon the side to show it?

                Vlad

Perhaps the Overflow menu could be moved to the side alongside the toolbar icon window?

If that's not possible, then perhaps just moving the Overflow menu to one of the sides (where it does actually fit) of the toolbar icon window's current position.

This is the default resolution for most Mac Notebooks, so changing this will help anyone who does stick to the default.
With the extensions I have installed, I cannot reach the new Programmable Button icon as it's underneath the Overflow menu.

I can also reproduce it: If users enable the vertical tab and try to edit the toolbar, they will face the reported issue. However, if they temporarily hide the sidebar, then they can close the overflow menu.

I've discovered a bug involving profiles when the window is narrower due to left-sided Dock.

In a secondary profile, the overflow menu looks like this:

While in my main profile, the overflow menu now looks like this:

When the Dock is placed back on the bottom or hidden, the overflow menu returns to its "fixed" state.
