In Safari, you can control-click a tab and choose to move it to an already-established tab group, whether the tab group is open or not.

Right now, Orion has a "Move Tab" item in the tab context menu—perhaps that could be renamed "Move to Open Window," and there could be another item with the feature I'm proposing called "Move to Tab Group" (which would list both open and closed tab groups in the same order as in the regular tab-group menu).

(I see this has been requested for the iOS version.)

Now that there is switch windows in place, not being able to organise tabs into groups easily is more apparent. Please consider keyboard shortcut to envoke a temp window to filter-select from list of tab groups. Should be faster to use Orion via keyboard.

phy Is that ask related to this post, and if it is if you are adding asks to the post that already exists, please do it in a way to make it clear what the ask is. What keyboard shortcut, for what exactly? etc..

Vlad In addition to the submenu in right-click of tab you suggested:

        • This submenu should be replicated to main menu Window where Move Tab to New Window is.
        • ⌘⌃m could be the default shortcut to move current tab to different group.

The shortcut would open a small modal-window populated with groups to move to. Cultured Code Things has some great implementations of these:

Please add the ability to right click a tab and move it into one of the saved windows 🙏

In the mean time, Is there any workaround to perform this action? I am currently copying the address, closing the tab, switching to the saved window, create new tab and paste the link. Not ideal honestly and I lose the ability to navigate back as well.

Renamed windows don't showup in the menu. This makes organizing tabs annoying

Vlad changed the title to "Move to" to include closed saved windows .

Sorry I should clarify as the title seems to have drifted a bit.

I really like to use window groups in the orion interface but I'm unaware how to move tabs to them other than to manually move them. Ideally, i could use the move tab window shortcut

The issue however, is that it currently only supports named window groups.

I have several saved windows but I can't move a tab to anything

I can only move tab to a new window, which opens a new window entirely, only then can you move the tab to a saved window,

So I would really like to be able to move a tab by right clicking on it and have the option to move it to a saved window without moving it to a new window first.

J-xon This issue is "Done" please open a new one with steps to reproduce and a video.

                      Steps to reproduce:
Show sidebar > press + to create one or more saved windows > go to "main window" or any saved window > right click on a tab

                      Expected behavior:

In Orion I can't do this:

Merged 1 post from No option to move tab to saved window by right clicking or in menu.
Merged 9 posts from "Move to" to include closed saved windows.
