EChronocom What is your view on Hypercore and IPFS? Why should Orion support them?
Vlad Hypercore because there are very few mobile on-ramps to the peer-to-peer web, despite the democratic potential of self-hosted websites. While publishing (Beaker-browser-style) is not probably not possible on ios, it would be nice to at least be able to visit hypercore-hosted sites on mobile.
IPFS because, again, there are few mobile access points to decentralised websites, despite their growing use in Defi for example— app.aave.org is now on IPFS.
Mainly I’ve suggested a focus on alternative web protocols as Orion seems pretty quickly moving and open to suggestions, and I think p2p and decentralised ways of being on the internet should come to mobile!
EChronocom Makes sense, thanks. We are definitely open to this!
This should be for desktop as well, not just mobile.
I am particularly interested in Gemini support.
It would be lovely to have Gemini bookmarks stored alongside my www bookmarks & synced. I would also like to have a way to add Gemini Capsules added to "read it later" / "reading list" services, so they appear in my queue/archive alongside all my other stuff.
I’d also vote for Gemini support. I think the spec is relatively basic, and perhaps there’s a library compatible with the language/framework Orion is using…
