For example, instead of pasting "https://browser.kagi.com", users would get a hyperlink with the page title, "Orion Browser by Kagi" linking to the URL. This saves massive amounts of time in research as students can easily see the titles of sources without clicking into a pasted link.

Here's how it's been implemented in Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-edge/improved-copy-and-paste-of-urls-in-microsoft-edge-d3bd3956-603a-0033-1fbc-9588a30645b4

HatshibaInu Can you provide more details how exactly it works? Possibly a video?

      a year later

Not sure about the backend code that makes it work, but here is some relevant information:

This is the support page showing how the feature works - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/improved-copy-and-paste-of-urls-in-microsoft-edge-d3bd3956-603a-0033-1fbc-9588a30645b4

I have also attached a video of it working between Edge and Orion.

      (re-uploading with reduced size/resolution)

This feature is very useful for those of us who copy URL links to other programs for notes, note-taking, and sharing information since the URL of a website doesn't always have a good description of the webpage.

cdowen If the video doesnt work I can re-upload or try another method

Same as - https://orionfeedback.org/d/1778-paste-links-as-hyperlinked-titles-add-as-an-option - Bumping in event that that thread is stale.

Edge offers a built-in feature which allows users to optionally paste a copied URL as a Hyperlink of the URL with the Title Page. The feature is described here - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/improved-copy-and-paste-of-urls-in-microsoft-edge-d3bd3956-603a-0033-1fbc-9588a30645b4

          Example:
Copying URL in Edge - Edge Improved Copy/Paste URL Page & Orion Feedback Page
          Pasting in Notes

Each copied URL has a the text of the webpage title as a hyperlink of the URL

This is very useful when copying URLs for notes, sharing, and other organization of saved URLs since copied URLs can be VERY long and not descriptive of the page it is linking.

Can upload a video of this if needed or reply to other thread (already did).

Feel free to delete this suggestion if the other thread is active.

Merged 1 post from Paste Copied URL as Hyperlinked Title.

Does anyone know how to see what is copied to the clipboard? It seems I should be able to see what Edge has saved to the clipboard in order to paste the link as a hyperlink

Vlad Is this the information you needed to see how it works?
