Bookmarks get copied in the reverse order
Steps to reproduce:
Select "File - Import from - Mozilla Firefox." Import everything.
The bookmarks are all imported, but sorted in reverse order from how they are in Firefox.
Expected behavior:
Bookmarks should be imported in the same order they exist in Firefox.
Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Version 0.99.113.2-beta (WebKit 613.1.12)
M1 MacBook Air
Same issue.
Is there a SORT function can solve the problem?
Steps to reproduce:
<Include steps to reproduce the bug; Did you try using Compatibility mode? If applicable, does Safari behave in the same way?>
? Not sure why I am being asked about Safari? I haven't imported bookmarks into Safari for a very long time.
Expected behavior:
<What you expected to happen?>
I expected a) for my bookmarks not to have disappeared when upgrading (0.99.115.3-beta ).
I expected for import from a html export (from firefox) to have imported by bookmarks as normal.
I expected that after importing directly from Firefox and then moving a bunch of bookmarks from the firefox toolbar to Orion toolbar, that they would move over in order and not reverse order. Again!
Orion, OS version; hardware type:
0.99.115.3-beta
MBP 15 from 2015 on latest Big Sur.

Question is why is Bookmark Importing such a disaster?
What's preventing Orion just reading Safari's plist file or the .html file it generates?
Firefox hasn't got any of the issues importing Safari Bookmarks and FF is the very far away from being anything like a native macOS app.
Yes it's a disaster, nothing is imported correctly, out of order duplicated in two locations, none of the menu bookmarks are in order and it won't allow dragging folders of bookmarks from Safari Edit Bookmarks window to Orions Bookmarks edit window. Then there's the side headache, creating new folders in the Orion Bookmark edit window, and the viewport of the window changes so that the newly created folder is no where to be seen, it deselects itself so have to scroll up to find the folder and rename it, pain.
Finally, bookmark importing should have been one of the absolutely first things to get working at the start of any browser development, not left like this after years.
puClvr Can you focus instead on two things
- Describing what exactly is broken
- How to reproduce it with minimal steps

Also try to post different issues to new bug reports, managing just one issue in a post is already hard, without distractions like this. We want to fix every single bug in orion, and need users to cooperate with the process.

Vlad at the risk of extending this digression, any customer who has submitted genuine, potentially constructive feedback has already expended some of their time towards improvement of the vendor’s product. It is inadvisable to place further burden upon the customer to re-phrase or re-structure the feedback.
This is a genuine communication or bureaucratic need of the vendor. Perhaps Orion could dedicate more resources towards managing customer feedback.

Noffica We value your feedback. Orion is still in Beta, where we need support from all of our users to make it perfect
Please share more details so that we can debug the issue, as other users are not facing the above issue.
- Orion version
- macOS version
Issues you highlighted
Drag bookmark folder from Safari to Orion
Dragging bookmark folder is not yet implemented, but you can drag multiple bookmarks from Safari to Orion (Chrome also doesn't support dragging bookmark folder from Safari).
But as we now received this as a feature request, we can add this into our priority list
Creating new folder doesn't scroll to created folder
This is fixed in last Orion release, but if you still facing the issue, please help us with steps you are using to reproduce.
Duplicating bookmarks in two locations
Its intentional to duplicate bookmarks from Safari's Favorites
folder into Orion's Favorites
and Bookmarks Bar
folders, as its based on user feedback who are switching to Orion from Safari, and want same bookmarks on start page and bookmarks bar they have in Safari.
Importing Safari's bookmarks
We don't see any issue in importing bookmarks from Safari, as you also indicated that you got duplicate bookmarks after importing from Safari, that means you were able to import Safari bookmarks successfully (which involves reading Safari's Plist file).
You can use File
-> Import From
and select your desired way to complete import process.
Please feel free to write us back with little more context, so that we can priorities the issue.
As Orion is a user's browser, and our goal is to bring all functionalities together, as per our user's needs
Hit this issue myself in Orion Version 0.99.127.2-beta (WebKit 619.1.1) just now. Drag a set of bookmarks onto a folder itself, they get moved in the reverse order. Exactly the same as what is shown in the video above.
Interestingly, dragging the bookmarks to a specific position inside a folder moves them in the correct order.
