Hi all,

I've been having some issues trying to get LanguageTool to work. It's pretty much the only thing left stopping me from going Orion full time. I'm loving the experience so far!

Steps to reproduce:

  • Install the LanguageTool Extension from either Firefox Store/Chrome Store - Seem to have identical issue
  • Once installation completes, you are taken to a blank welcome screen
  • Compatibility mode doesn't seem to make any difference, nor does manually changing the user agent or allowing pop-ups
  • If you close the welcome tab, you cannot click on the extension icon without it opening a new one. If left open, you can get to the settings and sign in
  • Safari does not have the same issue

Expected behavior:

  • To see the welcome screen to sign in without having to go through the settings.
  • For the editor to work on text fields (should show a small blue icon/red warning similar to Grammarly.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:

  • Version 0.99.112-beta (WebKit 614.1.1)
  • macOS Monterey 12.1
  • MacBook Pro 13-inch, 2020

      Well, the latest update to Orion (0.99.114-beta (WebKit 614.1.12)) certainly had some effect on this issue.

      The LT tool now appears in text areas, and looks to be attempting to check (little squiggle animation), but doesn't ever seem to go through and actually check.

      I'm also unable to click on it to bring up suggestions or results.

        I know this isn't being actively worked on, but just to keep the thread updated: behaviour seems to be identical to the above post as of Version 0.99.115-beta (WebKit 614.1.12).

          Steps to reproduce:

          Expected behavior:

          • LanguageTool's overlay should display and usable.

          I believe that LanguageTool might use similar web extension APIs like Gramamrly.
          Grammarly is working well with Orion but LanguageTool didn't.

          It would be nice if LT can work with Orion seamlessly too.
