I wasn't sure where to get the latest beta so I just used the download link in the invite email I received.

So, on Orion 0.99.112-beta (WebKit 614.1.1) the stuttering doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

Correction: it's happening again. Maybe because I had just restarted the browser it wasn't happening. Seems like it might be because I switched audio outputs? Gonna do some more tests later.

I’m having the same issue, except after a few seconds, the audio just cuts out completely.

I tested this with both bluetooth headphones and wired headphones and the issue was definitely worse with bluetooth.

I also tested with different video resolutions and playback speeds on YouTube (I assumed maybe my system was just slow?) and playing the video at 1x speed at the lowest resolution had minimal effect on the stuttering issue compared to playing the video at 2x speed in 1080p.

I’m using Orion v0.999.112 on MacOS v12.2 (21D49) if that helps narrow down the issue any.

Also forgot to mention that I tested it with Compatibility mode enabled and was still consistently having the audio stuttering issue.

Having the same issue here too, audio stutters randomly for me.

        I'm using Orion Version 0.99.111.2-rc (WebKit 614.1.2) on 12.2.

This happens on Twitch.tv as well. Interestingly, playing any video on YouTube or Twitch in Orion causes all system audio to stutter for a few seconds. Similar to SxC97 , audio from Orion then stops completely and system audio goes back to normal.

What I've found, is that through my wired headphones I don't get stuttered audio in Orion 0.99.112-beta. However, when the output is set to my MacBook's speakers or the Thunderbolt Display speakers, the audio stutters. When outputted to AirPods Pro, the audio stutters and then just goes silent after about a second.

Also, if I change the audio output while watching a YouTube video, the video will pause and put up the busy/loading/buffering animation over the video and will not be able to be played again until I refresh the page.

donut for me, the audio does not stutter/pop when I have wired/wireless headphones, but as soon as it plays out of the MacBook speakers is when it starts to pop.

This mostly happens when I switch windows to another app/do anything outside of Orion.

For me youtube videos at least are unwatchable when i plug in my wired headphones. Without headphones on the laptop speaker I get frequent stutters.

Same issue occurs for me on the latest beta (Version 0.99.112-beta (WebKit 614.1.1)). Oddly enough, the audio stuttering only happens when I plug in my USB-C earbuds, but it works perfectly fine on my Macbook Air's built-in speakers.

All this indicate a problem in the Webkit we used, and hopefully it will get fixed in the next WebKit update.

This is still a issue for me. Wired headphones.
                    Play a YoutubeVideo
Put it on 2x (not sure if this is relevant)
Switch between windows, audio pops, stutters

It seems like the more the Mac gets stressed (through other tabs or just using applications), the higher the possibility of audio either degrading or just fading out completely. Mostly it makes watching or listening to anything in Orion almost impossible for me. Sometimes a video will go on fine for a few minutes, but most of the time audio will drop out every few seconds.

Can everyone confirm this is fixed in RC?

No more audio stutters in 0.99.110.3-rc (WebKit 613.1.12). Also, playback doesn't freeze when audio output is changed during playback.

I've been encountering the audio stuttering issue still occuring in 0.99.112-beta (WebKit 614.1.1)

This was fixed in some inbetween release but is now broken again in Version 0.99.113.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.5.7)
