Orion is glacially slow on complex webpages - literally unusable.

On complex webpages, like the Shopify Theme customiser, Orion bogs down and becomes literally unusable.
And I've not got a slow mac, this is a top of the line M1 Max.

I am a theme developer and have continually tried to go back to Orion to do my work, but it's always been this slow. I hate having to have Brave installed on my system - I want it to be clean and just use Orion for everything but I simply cannot when this is the performance.

rogue Obviously not great but what happens when you enable cookies on the Orion side?

In general I've found that Brave/Chromium is a bit snappier on Intel than Orion/Webkit but more comparable on Apple Silicon. I recall Brave benchmarks about 10% faster than Orion on my M1. Of course those are averages and some pages may struggle in some browser more than others. Unfortunately I've found the best predictor of how well a browser will handle a web page is what browser the pages's developer used for testing...

bzgnyc it works brilliantly in Gecko, WebKit and Chromium based browsers, the only outlier is Orion.
Fresh profile, no extensions, cookies enabled or disabled, no matter what I do, Orion is unbearably slow.

rogue Thanks for clarifying that. I think a side-by-side of Orion versus Safari on the same web page would highlight the issue a lot more clearly. Otherwise it looks like a WebKit versus Chromium issue which is outside the scope of the Orion developers. I would also neutralize the cookies issue as that message suggests the site isn't expected to work well without cookies which creates another distraction from the real issue you are highlighting.

I have a similar issue on a real estate contract website, I have to fill out forms and I can type them out, sit back and watch the text slowly get filled out over 7 or 8 seconds. the forms can have hundreds of fields you can fill out in a document and it seems the browser is not able to handle it. Safari and Brave does not do this.
