When performing a search in a newly-opened or newly-selected tab,typing the term then pressing « enter » on the iOS keyboard, the first attempt always opens a similarLy-titled site from recent history or a similarLy-titled currently-open window. When the search is performed again in the same tab, it is successful.

Type a search term, give search results based on my exact input, not attempt to guess what I’m looking for.

Kind of experiencing the same? A little hard to tell. Wondering if issue linked below is related. Haven’t been able to capture a video.

If I start typing a search term on iOS, sometimes hitting enter or even selecting a search suggestion option will result in what I have typed being updated with other words. One thing I’ve noticed is it seems to happen more if I have misspelled the final word I have typed of my search query and a recommended correction is pending in an autocorrect bubble. It’s like Orion opts to fill in the autocorrection for me, which ultimately ends up changing the search suggestions. Very weird and difficult to describe.

you can disable search suggestion in settings, i believe other browsers behave similarly

I definitely want search suggestions enabled. I do use them. Most iOS browsers have autocorrect functionality disabled for the address bar. I do see that Autocorrect is available in Orion settings to toggle off, which seems to fix the issue for me. I’ve gone ahead and turned it off and I think this is a good compromise for me.
