YouTube playback issues - Videos won't open/load on click & says "This content isn't available, try again later."

YouTube videos doesn't seem to open / load on the first click. It says "This content isn't available, try again later."
It opens the video after refreshing.

Does this persist in a new profile?

It didn't do it in a new profile but it was signed out of google.

And, as siqniz mentioned on my main profile which has a signed in profile with content blockers on, the issue appears. But after disabling content blockers through Settings >> Websites >> Content Blockers the issue stopped.

Other than content blockers on Orion, I do have NextDNS set up on my router but never had issues with it on google's stuff.

I have had that issue for a couple of weeks on my ipad (but not on my iphone).
Prior to that (dunno if linked but), for several weeks, I had regularly the usual "adblock detected" screen when watching a video, but clearing cookies and cache would make YT leave me alone for a few days.

also, when this specific issue first showed up, refreshing the video or even opening YT in private mode would still show the error.
I tried today, and refreshing does launch the video as usual, and private mode doesn't show this screen at all (but here, clearing cache & cookies doesn't do anything)

And as previously said, I have that issue only on my ipad (1.4.4 (2) webkit 8621.4.1.10.1), not my iphone (1.4.4 (2) webkit 8613.7.1.0.13).

I'm having the exact same issue. I have to refresh everytime I watch a new video

I think i may have found the issue. Settings => Setting for page => uncheck enable content blockers
I'm not sure if this is a long time solution if you can turn it off for the winow or tabs though but it fixes my issue for youtube specifically

its only happening when the youtube is logged IN with google account, and if its logged OUT there is no issue , the video is loading and playing immediately

Same thing for me. I do not log in and only view as a guest. No video will now play. i can still view them fine with ad blockers (U block Origin) on safari and firefox.

Thanks all for the info thus far! Just to clarify: does using only an external adblocker (like uBlock Origin) let you view videos?

RoxyRoxyRoxy I have all the built-in content blockers in Orion disabled and only use uBlock Origin, but I am also getting the "This content isn't available, try again later." issue.

I have the same issue on desktop, and YouTube in general has been so buggy on orion lately, that I simply use another browser for it. My hunch is that’s it’s somehow related to DNS based content blockers combined with Orion’s own content blockers. Personally I’m running AdGuard home in my homelab

I don't remember the details but UBO had this issue back in October. I'll link a reference in case it's a useful starting point. Here is a comment about it for UBO lite and it was reported in the equivalent UBO issue too I believe; UBO users were at the time instructed to toggle on the experimental list and that would fix it (until they pushed a new release / filter update).

This seems like it could be a YouTube issue given it happens just with uBO enabled. Has anyone tried it in another browser?
