Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open mail.google.com
  2. Click any UI element, try to open an email

Expected behavior:
Instant response to clicks, mail opens

Actual behavior
Gmail loading sign pops up on top and nothing happens for a good 2-3 minutes. After the wait, its almost like the page has finally completed loading and everything responds normally after that. Tried using Compatibility mode, doesn't help.

Can you check the network tab whether anything specific is taking a long time? I can't reproduce it on my end and it loads for me within 5-6 seconds.

Did you try to use Compatibility mode? Does clearing cache fix this?

Compatibility mode didn't help. Clearing cache seemed to fix the issue - but only temporarily. It was back after I loaded gmail for the third or fourth time after clearing.

This is what the network tab looks like when it is stuck in loading...

Once the loading is completed a minute or so later and gmail starts functioning, a whole bunch of new entries show up in the network tab. None of the earlier entries had transfer size or time taken, these new ones do...

This doesn't look like anything specific to Orion and more like a network issue. Can you try on a couple other browsers? Do you have a VPN that you could try with or another network (like Mobile Hotspot)?
