Need a microphone indicator when a website is using your microphone.

It should be shown on the left of the sound icon preferably.

    If you click on the icon in Safari, you also have the ability to mute it in which case it replaces the icon with a microphone with a cross through it.

    I have an additional request - show the icon even when a tab in background is using microphone. So that a website cannot abuse microphone access in background.

    gp I would say it's separate. I am asking for a simple indicator, not a current permissions state.

        It is obviously separate/different, but I suggest it is “linked” from a user/functional perspective, as the feature is about giving the user visibility and control of microphone use. Therefore it might make sense to handle them together when implementing (for example).
