Orion RC freezing after startup

Another odd symptom -- despite not seeming to consume all system memory nor any CPU, it slows down the whole system when it is in this frozen/Not Responding state. For example just opening Terminal or Facetime takes dozens of bounces. As soon as I force quit Orion, they go back to opening in one bounce.

dino Any ideas on this or do I just need to blow my Orion RC folder away from Finder/Terminal and start over?

If so, any suggestions on how to extract the list of open tabs from that session? I used to know to do that from Safari using sqlite but never tracked down the relevant files/database for Orion.

P.S.Feature suggestion: command-line options for Orion that startup in a safe-mode that for example starts a new profile without trashing the existing/default one and its related defaults/preferences.

bzgnyc you can extract open tabs/windows from ~/Library/Application\ Support/Orion\ RC/Defaults/browser_state.plist path. Temporarily You can try opening Orion with safe mode Shift + launch and can create a new profile to check if that works.

dino Thanks starting Orion in safe mode (via Shift + launch) worked -- opened right up with a new window in one bounce.

Is there anything you need me to preserve before I reset my session?

bzgnyc I think instead of reseting it completely, just copy browser_state.plist to some other place, and remove original, and then try relaunching. If still don't work, try removing/renaming Extensions directory and relaunch.

dino Great moving browser_state.plist out the way restores operations and putting it back breaks it again so whatever is triggering Orion is definitely in there. Quick look at the XML version via plutil doesn't suggest anything obviously abnormal so not sure what it doesn't like. Now I just have to rebuild my session...

P.S.As cool as Orion's cross-browser extension support is, I don't use any extensions in Orion at the moment.

dino I guess I am not keeping up with the times/new platforms. I created a Discord account from the link here but when I tried to DM you, it directed me to send a friend request. When I did that it gave me a spam violation that will be restrict my account if I have another violation in the next 2 years. Now if I just send you a message on that system with the files you mentioned, not sure that will automatically block my account further...
