Password not autofilling in some cases and not offering to remember in others

I imported passwords into an Orion profile from Firefox.

1) I try to login to mathworks.com where I have an account and can auto log in from Firefox (and Safari)

The email address populates in the Login ID field
The password box is on a separate page
I go to that page
There is no way to autofill that password in Orion. The key icon does not appear to the right side of the Password box

2) I deleted the login information in Orion's password manager (Tools -> Passwords) to try to recreate

3) I go to mathworks.com and login manually

Orion does not offer to remember the credentials
The checkbox to Offer to Autofill passwords is checked in Settings

4) I have the same problem on other sites. These are financial sites so I don't want to post them here

5) BUT, I can autologin to this Orion Feedback site where the login id and password are on the same page

6) Don't have these problems in Firefox

1) Password field should autofill
2) Deleting a login/password and then manually logging in should result in an offer to store the credentials

17 July 2025: When the userid and password are on a single form, Orion completes the autologin. Logins that have a userid on one page and a password on another page fail. Orion populates the userid but the password on the following page does not fill in.

Thank you for taking the time to report this. Recently we did some improvements on autofill so I wonder whether you can try this flow on the v135.0.1 or latest available and let us know whether it's still reproducible.

I've had Version 0.99.135.0.1-beta (WebKit 622.1.15.19.2) for a few days now. Unfortunately, when I go to https://www.mathworks.com --> Sign in, I am still unable to save the credentials. This site has the userid and password entry on two separate pages. The sign-in page winds up as

perhaps all the extra cruft in the URL is causing issues?

But, FWIW, I was able to get a Gmail userid/password to save which I couldn't before. That also is split across two pages.

I also got a financial site split across two pages to sort-of-work. After I entered the userid, it asked if I wanted to save the password. I clicked on Yes and got taken to the password form. The userid was stored, but not the password. I was able to go into Settings, Passwords and update the password field.

I have the same issue with password fill in a few pages, like Aliexpress where the key button does not appears until the password field appears. And when it appears the autofill does not work.

Same behaviour in Office login screen and Wallapop.es
