When searching Kagi images, alterations to search query dont work

Hi everyone who took the time to report this bug!

I am sorry, I am unable to reproduce this issue. I've tried different setups and techniques and it always seems to work on my various test devices.

Perhaps one last thing I can think of, is the way Kagi search is handled in Orion, with the "session link".
Would anyone with the issue be able to re-generate their session link? Go to Kagi.com, log out and log back in. Then grab the new session link (Kagi.com → Settings → Account → Session Link), and set this new session link in Orion.
Perhaps this could give me a hint as to what is the inderlying issue?

Hi, I also have this issue, for a long time (since I started using Kagi and Orion in April this year)

Orion version: 1.3.26 (9) (WebKit 8621.3.11.10.3)
IOS: 18.6.1
Phone: iPhone 11

I also noticed another behavior that wasn’t mentioned in this thread. If I just type https://kagi.com/images in the address bar, go, and type in my search (e.g. cats), it will not show anything. So, the issue is reproducible not only by altering the search, but also by going to the Image search page directly by url and searching something.

I haven’t tried all the suggestions in the thread, but the ones I tried behave the same: reproduces in Orion, but not in Safari. Disabling extensions, reloading without cache/content blockers didn’t work either

UPD: not sure if it’s helpful, but if I disable Javascript for all websites through the settings, it fixes the issue, and the bug no longer reproduces. Though I see that it uses https://kagi.com/html/images instead

UPD2: Requesting desktop website also changes nothing, bug still reproduces

jura23ssic The JavaScript clue is gold—hopefully, it helps the devs track down the issue. Glad you found a workaround in the meantime.

After updating to iOS 26.0, the issue seems to have been resolved on my side 🤷🏻‍♂️

The issue has resolved for me as well, even without updating to the newer IOS. I noticed that it stopped reproducing a week or two ago, but forgot to update it here

So apparently something in version 1.3.28 fixed this bug?!

No, I have 1.3.27 right now

I don’t remember exactly, but it seemed to me that it was the fix made on Kagi site, not in the Orion browser. IIRC it started working without me updating the browser app

Thanks everyone for their feedback! I just checked on my iPhone, and the problem resolved for me. The only things ive changed is i updated my iphone software, and i updated orion. I decided to check if the problem still happened on my ipad, which i havent updated either on. It still persisted. Then I updated just orion on the ipad, and the problem went away. So at least for me, it had something to do with my version of orion.
