Bug Report

Steps to reproduce:
Install Dark Reader, click extension icon & enable Dynamic mode under the "More" pane (enabled by default).
Multiple websites (e.g., heb.com, wsj.com, economist.com) will briefly render before turning blank & laggy. The extension icon also turns inoperable on the same tabs.
Switching to different filter modes for Dark Reader resolves the bug.

Expected behavior:
Safari smoothly renders the same websites with Dark Reader for Safari enabled in Dynamic mode.

macOS:
12.0.1

    Grilledcheesesandwich Thanks!

Can you confirm what is Dynamic mode and how to turn it on once the extension is installed (that part is not covered in video)?

Does this bug happen immediately after turning it on and visiting the sites in question?

Does the system need to be in Dark mode?

Updated the video & description to answer your questions. Dynamic mode amounts to a more resource-intensive CSS template injected by the extension into each webpage, versus the other basic filter modes. Yes, the bug occurs immediately regardless of system appearance settings.

Grilledcheesesandwich Its not crashing the app, but WebKit process seams crashing which you notice that suddenly url bar gets empty and page just disappear. So I think you should see bug reporter window on next launch by which you can send those to us.

Or manually you can check in ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ where you can see some reports named something like com.apple.WebKit.WebContent.Orion or something like this

That seams fixed with new WebKit update, will be available with next release 😀
