When I click in the Orion Address Bar, a huge drop-down appears, showing the content of the Start Page. (Favorites, Frequently Visited, and Reading List.) I get why it does that, and I'm sure it's useful for some people, but for me it's a strict net negative: I find it distracting every time, and I have never once used it.

So I'd appreciate a Setting that allows me to turn that off. It's a minor thing, but I think I'd be happier simply not seeing it.

This is kind of an anti-feature: asking to be able to turn a feature off. Since this drop-down doesn't exist in Chrome AFAIK, I've never encountered it elsewhere.

Agreed. I hate that dropdown. It's ugly and since I have a ton of bookmark folders, it's slow. I never use it.

If you hide the elements from start page, they also hide from the dropdown.
I do know this isn't a full fix but it's the best rn

eirk Problem is I use the Start Page all the time and need my Bookmark Folders shown there.

If you had the choice, what would you prefer?

        1. Completly enable/disable the feature
        2. Much smaller icons
        3. More detailed customization of this menu. For example, being able to activate an "Show in location bar" option on the Startpage? ← my choice.

I think having the option for customization is always the best option. It would be great to be able to customize in the settings, both icon sizes and toggling the menu on or off.

Any of them would help; personally, I'd prefer a setting somewhere that allowed me to turn this drop-down off entirely (which either 1 or 3 would accomplish, it sounds like).
