Anon Simon you and I are on the same page. I am willing to overlook a lot of shortcomings, and can even live with the UBlock issues (though it annoys me). But reliable basic functionality like tabs, and full 1Password support, are non-negotiable. @Yannick have you been able to replicate this bug?
wincent I see similar weirdness, but additionally see the tabs start to appear as nested, duplicated copies (even though I have nesting turned off) — the duplicates are weird because clicking on one of them does nothing, but clicking on the others works and switches to the tab.
Anon wincent Yes, I have seen that too. The last few updates to Orion have really created a mess. It was pretty stable prior to then for quite a while, and now core features are totally broken.
Anon Yannick You are a Product Manager for Orion, and don't have access to the most recent RC build? That is...shocking
wincent I think some of the wonkiness is related to the "Close window with last tab" setting being turned off. When it is off, closing a tab sometimes results in these weird nested duplicates being created:
Yannick Oh... I think it's new. Is it somehow related to this? https://orionfeedback.org/d/10037-tree-tabs-is-showing-copies-of-the-entire-list-underneath-random-items
wincent Yannick Oh... I think it's new. Is it somehow related to this? Yes. That looks like the same issue.
Ludwig_S I encounter this bug a number of times daily. It's very annoying. I hope this can be fixed ASAP.
nrudnyk Hey @LoganDark, @Anon, @Simon, @wincent, @Yannick, @Ludwig_S Would you guys be so kind and try the following dev build and let us know whether you can still reproduce the issue in it? OrionRC-15.0-131.2.0.10-dev Thanks!
LoganDark nrudnyk this issue has never had a particularly consistent repro for me, but I'll try to main this build for the next few days and see if I run into the issue again or not
wincent nrudnyk I tried out the build and, sadly, this issue still reproduces. I'll attach screenshots so you can see the exact settings I used. To repro, I went to YouTube, Command-clicked to open a bunch of videos in tabs, and then, starting from the bottom of the list of tabs, start playing a video, then close the tab with Command-W. After a few tabs, I start to see the weird nested vertical tabs.
nrudnyk @wincent thanks for the info. The build I've shared from 12 days ago was still affected. However we found a reproduce as well as a fix and it's now live in latest beta v132 Please try it out and let us know.
