I agree with all of the above. The bugs with 1Password are the only thing stopping me from using Orion as my daily driver browser. Hopefully this is an Orion issue that can be fixed on your end than a 1P issue that they need to solve (because we all know that’s never happening)
1Password works pretty badly with Orion
I tried using 1Password with the Firefox extension. It does load more consistently. Generally, Orion Chrome support has been poor for me.
I can't log in with my finger-scan, ever. That hasn't even been offerred to me. So logging into 1P is slow, requiring that I type out a complex password every time. (Annoying, given that I need it many times a day.)
This can be solved by opening the 1Password desktop app, going to Settings > Browser > Connect to additional browsers
, and adding Orion there.
Autofill sometimes works, but more often than not doesn't. I have yet to figure out any consistency there, but the result is that I frequently have to go back and forth between 1P and my browser page, manually copy/pasting.
This is the real issue with 1Password in Orion. Some web pages seem to have more issues than others.

Oooh -- thanks for the clue! I had never even noticed that setting existed, but that should be a significant quality-of-life improvement. (That also fixes the "Connection Problem", unsurprisingly.)
It may be worth calling that out as a FAQ somewhere, given that it's a bit subtle and 1P is a very common extension these days.
Very reproducible for me. I can’t go more than about 1 hour with 1password crashing Orion.
Second issue, perhaps related... passkeys are a horrible experience in Orion. Honestly I didn’ use them a lot in other browsers, so I can’t compare, but 1Password says it shouldn’t be this way. The combination makes me think there could definitely be an issue with Orion.
1password autofill is a bit random as noted. I am using the Firefox extension and I don't see most of the other issues that often.
1password is the reason I use Orion as it does not work with profiles in Safari. So I would not be surprised if there are 1password bugs here.
jducoeur can you please try latest RC 131.2 and let us know if that works fine for you?

This one can be fixed by adding Orion app to trusted browser list 1Password (native app) -> Settings... -> Browsers -> Connect to additional browsers
, and make sure that Orion browser is placed under /Applications
directory
In the 1P Settings, the Connection Status seems to usually show as "Connection Problem", even when 1P is open on my desktop.
The above solution applies to this one too.
1P goes to sleep quickly, generally in something like a minute or two, even though I have it set to 30 minutes in the Settings. (I would guess this has something to do with the Connection Problem, but I dunno.)
This one supposed to be fixed in RC 131.2 (1Password extension from Chrome store)

I'm not sure how to interpret "RC 131.2". I'm on Orion 0.99.131.0.1-beta; when I Check for Updates, I'm not seeing anything more current. (And that doesn't bear any resemblance to my 1Password version.)
1P autofill is still failing almost all the time for me, at least 95% fails. Running the OrionRC build Version 0.99.131.2-rc (WebKit 621.1.2.111.4) and 1Password browser extension version 8.10.64.7
81064007, on STABLE channel
Also super annoying is that if I invoke the system-wide 1P shortcut to autofill it always shows my Kagi.com login instead of the website I'm on so I can't even use that as a work around. For example if I use safari or Arc and press option+command+\ the 1P window opens and shows my kagi.com login info even if I'm on gmail.com where in Safari or Arc if press the same keyboard combo on gmail.com it will show my gmail login info.
I imagine its frustrating to have to put this much effort in to one third party extension but there's nothing like having it not work to make you realize just how many time a day you use it.

I just updated Orion to 0.99.131.0.2-beta which says it has a bunch of 1password fixes, but I found that this version is even less reliable with 1password. I've had Orion added in the 1password desktop app settings ("Connect to additional browsers") from the get-on. I cannot get the extension to autofill usernames or passwords since updating a couple hours ago. I'm seeing this behavior with both the Chrome and Firefox versions of the 1password extension.

mball Having the same experience on 0.99.131.3-rc. It worked mostly prior to this release with the rare failed autofill, and it's gotten significantly worse. Now it rarely comes up and autofilling isn't working reliably either, I gotta copy paste my passcodes in.
Also experiencing issues with Orion and 1Password. It is getting increasingly frustrating to try to use Orion and Orion touting extension support and it literally barely works. That goes for all extensions honestly. Grammarly, 1Password, etc. I don't think extension support should be advertised as such a selling point whenever it does not work most of the time. It is false advertisement and makes the brand look bad. Why is Grammarly even in the recommended extension page when numerous, numerous people have mentioned issues and nothing has been worked on to fix it. Even more frustrating when Orion is expanding to Linux when the browser hasn't even matured on Mac, and you say the project is strained for resources due to a small team. What is going on with leadership here? @Vlad
