Syncing new tabs between iOS and macOS is slow and delayed

What’s happening:
I’m having some issues with the sync. When I open a new tab on iOS, it takes a loooong time for it to show up on desktop. I’m not sure when it triggers— I have to come back much later to see it appear.

And when I’m browsing the iphone’s set of of tabs on the mac and create a new tab there, it takes a long time to show up on my phone.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it expected behavior?

Expectation: When I open a new tab on my phone, it would show up shortly after on my mac, and vice versa.

A bit more info on both issues:

Stale tabs– Last time this happened a few days ago, my iPhone was showing stale tabs until the next day. I think it was cleared up via a restart of the browser on the mac. It happens fairly frequently, but is not always reproducible.

Opening tabs in iPhone tab group on mac and not seeing them on iPhone– This one is easily reproducible. It's not clear to me if the tab group on my iPhone are supposed to be "editable" on my Mac.
