Sorry, I meant how a space is made for the new tab to be placed in.
For some reason, Safari has the dragged tab take up the full space (the full tab bar), while CotEditor, a different app that uses native tabs, has the new tab take up the new amount of space it would take (half the tab bar).

Orion's behavior should be like CotEditor, because Safari has the extra-long tab, which is incorrect.
Also, Orion doesn't have shadow for the dragged tab. Can this be fixed too?

Note: There are two windows for Orion, because it tabs that are dragged do not have their window disappear. (link: https://orionfeedback.org/d/972-window-does-not-disappear-when-being-dragged-by-the-tab-bar)

Tabs merging works perfectly fine when dragging tabs within one window. All the animations are correct, including tab width and shadows. They just don't work correctly when draggine between windows.

Whenever I add a tab from one window to another one with many tabs already, instead of just having a single blue caret, it should preview the entire tab bar on how it would look like as if the tab was already within the tab bar. Just like Safari, and Google Chrome. Currently, the behavior is that of Firefox in that it just shows a caret. This browser should be more inspired by the Safari UI than Firefox.

BTW the request is ONLY for horizontal tabs. it would be nice to also have this for compact tabs though.

it can apply to vertical tabs, but:

it must only be when "show nested tabs" is disasbled, otherwise it would be impossible to move tabs to be children of other tabs.
