Hello- 1st post, recent convert, mostly happy, except: The download capabilities of the ios clients are very weird. select an image, Save to Files, nothing happens. try to save a web page in reader view, and it saves the non reader version. Images can’t be saved except with copy/paste. Attempting to right click and save a document under a link saves a page reporting a permissions error. Files will seem to save to completion and then just fail, or fail part ways, with no resume option I can find. And all files saved have a default name of ‘1’.

Is this expected? The browser seems otherwise exemplary- I didn’t expect downloading to be so troublesome.

Expected a more modern browser downloading experience, with resume options, reliable saves, & file name capture- if this is a lower priority work in progress, I could well understand- it’s amazing what y’all have done, and a huge project you’ve undertaken. But if this is expected behavior, it’s a show stopper for me, alas. Thank you for your work & attention

Hi, found this topic from a search engine. I'm also experiencing problems with downloading files. Here is video:
Sometimes some files are randomly successfully downloaded (I have not found any regularities, maybe after playing with downloads path), but mostly the download starts and fails at the end. Just found a workaround: you need to select a subdirectory in any directory, but then there are some errors with the download path and file name, it includes the name of the subdirectory and is saved in the parent directory. This happens on any site, not only in the example on the video. Probably there is some bug in the formation of file paths.
      I'm on iOS 18.2.1, Orion 1.3.15 (5) (WebKit 8620.1.16.10.11)
      Thanks

      Vlad heh. Fair, but consistently?

The download naming issue is fairly consistent: I save web pages for research and reference; the common method in ios is to Print or Mark Up, then save as PDF or save to files using the Sharing extension. Safari will capture the webpage header issues as the file name. Orion names the file ‘1’. And the next one, And the next one. Sometimes they show up as ‘Orion’, but then it’s the same pattern. this is not helpful

The incomplete download issue is more problematic to repeat.

We use a 5g home router, and recently someone attacked our primary tower for its copper. We remained connected, but the connection speeds for home & phone were from nothing to near nothing, and it took over a month to get fixed. Orion for IoS (and for Mac) would ‘complete’ downloading files, but they would be incomplete- mere kilobytes instead of the expected megabytes. Firefox & Safari could properly finish download files in the same conditions, given time...

Something more specific: Orion doesn’t have a Resume option for incomplete downloads- this is standard equipment in most browsers, and was very sorely missed during our interregnum.

        Thank you for your work.

          Oh and one specific weirdness

Patreon- signed in, given a zip file to download and this is what i get in the downloads folder:

‘You have not been granted permission to access this page — Patreon‘

Arkanjil looks like no cookies included for downloading

Vlad any updates on this issue please? I have exactly same behavior
